This bread lasts for a long time because it is dehydrated when cooked which is why it was used by Sardinian shepherds during their long absences away with the flocks. A highly appreciated carasau bread produced in Ovodda following a centuries-old tradition in which pure mountain water is used along with Sardinian flour stone-ground by the baker himself. Such a prestigious product deserves a precious and original container, a tin box to maintain the bread’s crispness.
